Other Works

Regarding the political community, Rousseau claimed, in The Social Contract, “I prefer liberty with danger than peace with slavery.”. J.J Rousseau explained his opinion about politics during this time by using satire (mockery). He strongly believed in the social contract theory.

In 1762, Jean-Jacques Rousseau published The Social Contract. Through this book, Rousseau theorizes the best way a community (political) should be established and organized. The Social Contract helped with the creation of several political reforms (and even revolutions) in France especially.

His Works

Another one of Rousseau's famous texts is Emile, ou De L'Education (Emile, Or Education). This text is very different from The Social Contract, it talks about the nature of men and education. Rousseau himself claimed that this book is the "best and most important" of all his writings. 

Les Confessions was another one of J.J. Rousseau's greatest works. Les Confessions was more of an autobiography published a few years after his death. This book also was one of the reasons why people started writing autobiographies, he is, in a way the creator of autobiographies.
